Founded in October 2009, Westernport Quilters is a vibrant group with more than 80 members.
We meet in the Tyabb Hall on the third Tuesday of each month (except in December) to chat, chew & stitch with friends. It’s a day of caring and sharing with lots of laughs to lift our spirits. We also meet at Tyabb on the second Saturday of the month from 10am to 3 pm. If you work during the week, feel welcome to join us then.
Sometimes we have a guest speaker who dazzles us with their prize-winning quilts and challenges us to explore the possibilities outside our usual comfort zone.
On the first Tuesday of each month, we have workshops tutored by one of our members who is willing to share their time and expertise or at times a guest tutor of renown.
Members enjoy bus trips, and some years a retreat in country Victoria.
If you love quilting and would like to make some more like-minded friends, please come along and join us. We’d be delighted to welcome you.
Many of us are involved in our ‘Caring Quilts’ programme to help those who might be going through a difficult patch. We donated more than 50 quilts to the local community, and our current programme donates to many worthy charities, with Premmie quilts, flood victims, Teddies for Kids at Dandenong Hospital, Impact for women, and many more!
